Why APK identity matters
Several unrelated apps may use similar Yono names. A filename or logo alone is not enough to prove who developed an app or whether two listings refer to the same package.
Prefer an established app-store listing when one is available. If a source cannot show a consistent developer, package ID and privacy policy, do not treat its claims as verified.
APK information checklist
| Field | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Developer | The same legal or publisher name across reliable sources |
| Package ID | A stable Android application identifier |
| APK filename | A name consistent with the expected package and version |
| Version | A clear version number and update context |
| Source | Where the file or listing originated |
| Permissions | Whether requested access is necessary for the stated function |
| Privacy policy | Who collects data and how it is used |
| Signature | Whether updates are signed consistently |
Unknown-source installation
Android may require a separate permission to install from outside an app store. Enabling that permission reduces an important safety barrier. Do not enable it only because a promotional page says an app is official or safe.
